The 12th season of the Indian Premier League will commence on March 23, 2019, with the defending champions Chennai Super Kings taking on Royal Challengers Bangalore at the Chepauk in Chennai.
Total eight teams Mumbai Indians, Chennai Super Kings, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Kings XI Punjab, Rajasthan Royals, Kolkata Knight Riders and Delhi Capitals (previously Delhi Daredevils) will take part in IPL 2019.
All the major milestones which could be achieved during the 12th season of Indian Premier League
5000 runs – Suresh Raina (4985) and Virat Kohli (4948) need 15 and 52 runs respectively to complete 5000 runs in IPL. Suresh Raina also needs 14 more runs to complete 5000 runs for CSK.
4000 runs – Chris Gayle and AB de Villiers need 6 and 53 runs respectively to achieve the milestone of 4000 IPL runs.
3000 runs – Kieron Pollard needs 21 more runs to complete 3,000 runs for MI.
300 sixes – Chris Gayle needs to hit 8 more sixes to become the first batsman ever to hit 300 sixes in IPL.
150 wickets – Amit Mishra needs 4 more wickets to become the first Indian and second bowler overall after Lasith Malinga to take 150 wickets in IPL.
100 wickets – Ravindra Jadeja and Shane Watson need 7 and 8 wickets respectively to complete 100 wickets in IPL. Bhuvneshwar Kumar needs 4 more wickets to become the first bowler to take 100 wickets for Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL.
100 wins in IPL – Mumbai Indians need 2 more wins to become the first team to register 100 wins in IPL.
100 catches as a fielder – Suresh Raina needs 5 more catches to become the first fielder to take 100 catches in IPL.
100 matches as captain – The fourth match of Virat Kohli in this season will be his 100th match as captain of Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL.
